Who we are:

alpakas is on a mission to prove that grocery delivery can be done sustainably. We are zero-waste, organic, local - and we are just getting started. We are live in Berlin but will expand quickly in Germany. We combine sustainability and practicality to address one of the biggest waste problems of our time: plastic packaging.  To achieve zero-waste, we use our own system of reusable refill-glasses (“Pfand”) and work with suppliers who believe in the same mission. We want to make it easy to re-connect to the local producers and are proud to work with many of them already <3

Your role:

Building a fast-growing company requires a strong emphasis on people and culture. As we get ready to scale our offer beyond Berlin, we are looking for a People and Culture generalist who thrives to building an inclusive, dynamic, personal-growth-oriented environment. As the our go-to P&C team member we make, this means getting the essential right (contracts, feedback mechanisms, D&I) but also building systems ahead for the future (learning and development, retention, VSOP). Create the P&C roadmap with us! The weekly tasks for this position include:


  • Being the first point of contact for our team and leadership team on a wide range of people-related topics from pre-boarding all the way up to offboarding

    (pre-boarding, on and offboarding, contract management, probation reviews, performance reviews & development, absence management, etc.)

  • Developing new & improving existing people processes, projects, policies and tools

  • Supporting the Hiring Managers in filling vacancies, including advertising, active sourcing and conducting interviews independently

  • Creating employment contracts, supplements and other legal documents & Keeping our HRIS accurate and up to date

  • Preparing our monthly payroll in cooperation with our external payroll provider

  • Organisation of team events and support with office-related tasks


Job requirements

What we are looking for:


    • Significant work experience in People Operations such as German labor law, contract management, process implementation, etc, in a growth environment

    • Results-driven and hands on mindset

    • In addition to a high level of self-motivation, you convince with an independent and structured way of working.

    • Passion for food & sustainability

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)

    • Experienced with HRIS, ideally Personio & Proficient with Google Suite applications
